VASH PANIOLO POSTER EASTER EGGS:

1) Studio Orange, who produced Trigun Stampede, made their break with Land of the Lustrous. Hence they're featured as an "illustrious" studio!
2) Nightow, the creator of Trigun, makes a cameo in Trigun Stampede as a criminal wanted for $$30.00, listed as "The Comix Artist"

Personal Works/Commissions/Etc.

3) The title contains the following:
- 5 Moons
- 1 Bullet
- A headstone with a cross, a vial, or a missile depending on your view
4) All of the "cast" listings and "the Ballad of Humanity Continues" are direct callbacks to the original Funimation DVD cover for Trigun (1998) except "Hardened Detective: Roberto deNiro" who only appears in Trigun Stampede.
5) "Paniolo" is the Hawaiian word for "vaqueros" or "cowboy". Hawaii has a longstanding history with Mexican cowboys since 1832!
6) The circle behind Vash is a sonar, which is used for tracking tropical storms like typhoons.
7) The Humanoid Typhoon is heading the wrong way because Hawaii doesn't get typhoons! We get hurricanes, which are tropical storms that go from east to west.

8) Every year on King Kamehameha Day, Hawaiians celebrate with a Paniolo Parade that features each island with its own royal Hawaiian court! Vash is joining as a special guest on his Tomas, who is adorned with flowers that can be found in both Hawaii and in the desert (except for the geraniums and one special plant fro the finale.
9) Vash's red coat is replaced with a Hawaiian ahu'ula / feather cape to represent his special status. Red is a royal color, and the iridescent rooster feathers represent his fighting spirit.
10) His purple shirt is also a nod to both his finale outfit in Trigun Stampede and the island of Kauai known as the "Garden Isle".
11) The saddle blanket on the Tomas features traditional Hawaiian kakau designs on the edge. Symbolically they represent Humanity (trapezoids = community), the Worms (arrows = centipedes / fighting unit / protection), and the Plants (half diamonds on bottom = leaves of taro / nurturer / older generation nourishing the new generation). The triangles in the corner is the Lokahi symbol of harmony, representing Vash's goal for Love and Peace.
12) He is wearing a marigold lei wound with strands of jasmine flowers/"pikake". Jasmine is a popular wedding flower that symbolizes love, while marigolds can symbolize grief.

WOLFWOOD PANIOLO POSTER EASTER EGGS:

1) Studio Orange, who produced Trigun Stampede, made their break with Land of the Lustrous. Hence they're featured as an "illustrious" studio!
2) Nightow, the creator of Trigun, makes a cameo in Trigun Stampede as a criminal wanted for $$30.00, listed as "The Comix Artist"

Personal Works/Commissions/Etc.

5) "Paniolo" is the Hawaiian word for "vaqueros" or "cowboy". Hawaii has a longstanding history with Mexican cowboys since 1832!
6) The map behind Wolfwood is the map from Trigun Stampede, showing his journey from Hopeland Orphanage to July.
7) Wolfwood not only faces that same path, he can also face Vash in the companion piece if arranged right.

8) There are 3 types of Native Hawaiian birds in the poster that share some traits with Wolfwood:
- Hawaiian Hawk / 'Io: The bird guiding Wolfwood (top right). It is considered the family guardian/'aumakua to many royal Hawaiians, their name is considered colloquially related to "God", hence why the royal family chose to name their palace "the heavenly hawk" aka 'Iolani Palace. In the manga, Wolfwood is associated with hawks in the extra chapter "Free Bird" where he protects a fellow orphan he had cared for as a child.
- Hawaiian short-eared owl / Pueo: The bird on the Punisher (left). Another 'aumakua that is surprisingly active during the day. Considered a beloved animal in Hawaiian culture, they also serve a darker purpose as a psychopomp who guides spirits to the afterlife. As a priest and an undertaker, Wolfwood represents this bird marvelously.
- White Tern / Manu-o-Kū: The white birds up top. Hawaiians believed these birds to be one of the manifestations of the Hawaiian god of war, Kū, who guided Hawaiians back to shore. These nestless birds mate for life and the parents always fly as a pair when hunting for their baby. To see 3 flying together means the parents are teaching their child how to fly the same way Wolfwood helped many orphans "fly" from their temporary nest in Hopeland.
9) He is wearing a maile lei wound with a strand of jasmine flowers/"pikake". Both are known for their fragrances and are a popular choice for weddings.
10) He is smoking a Hawaiian tobacco cigar.
